Dear Parents and Guardians
I hope this letter finds you well together with your families. As you may know, the authorities have indicated that Lo Barnechea retreats to Phase 1 as of this Thursday, June 3nd. This obliges us to return to online classes as of this Thursday, June 3st until the government announces the end of the new quarantine.
Although this announcement saddens us once again, our school has experience and is ready. We would like to ask for your support in the following items:
Students must connect to all their classes starting with homeroom at 7:55 (Except for preschool) wearing their school uniform and with their cameras on.
Attendance is obligatory and is the parents’ responsibility. This point notwithstanding, teachers will be taking attendance and following up on students who are not showing up to class.
The students must be seated in a place that is appropriate for learning (desk or table).
Students must carry out all class activities.
Assessments will be remote where necessary.
In the case that the use of the camera (mandatory) is not possible, parents or guardians must send a written justification and students must use their photo or initials as their avatar in their institutional account.
The daily schedule for online classes is the same as our presencial schedule (except for Infant School) with regards to the sequence of classes. However, the length of classes varies in order to take into account family dynamics during lockdown, as we did in the previous quarantine situation.
Please see above for the schedules for Infant, Lower, Middle and High School.
We hope that our students are able to return to presencial classes soon, and in the meantime, we will make sure that they continue their learning process from the safety of their homes.
Warm regards,
Lorna Prado Scott
