Land Art

A very significant activity took place recently with third-grade students within the context of the investigation unit called “How we share the planet”.  In order to explore the concept of responsibility for the environment, the children started to inquire about this issue in their Art lessons, where they learnt from artists, such as, Andy Goldsworthy, a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist, who creates sculptures and land art by using the natural elements available in the surroundings where he works.

News from New Zealand

The first stopover of our sport students who are on a sport tour was Auckland, where they had time to stroll around the city for a while and train for the next sport challenges.  Some places they visited were Eden Park, the house of the Old Blacks, and the Sky Tower.

The trip started on the right foot, as we had excellent results in the first three matches, with triumphs in Rugby, Football and a great victory in Hockey (9-0). The swimming team, in turn, had the privilege of training in one of the most prestigious swimming pools in the world, where the students were lucky to share the pool with several members of the New Zealander team, saw them training and took some pictures with them.

Caring Day

If you're not making someone else's life better, then you're wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.” This statement said by the actor Will Smith was borrowed by the members of Student Council for Upper and High Schools in order to send a message to the Santiago College Community during the celebration of the Caring Day.
