Letter from the President of the School Board of Governors

Dear members of the community,

We are pleased to share with you an important update on the process of selecting a new Head of School, as mentioned in our letter dated July 27, 2023, in which we informed you of Ms. Lorna Prado Scott´s decision to retire.

Accordingly, the Search Committee was formed, with its main task being to identify the most qualified person to lead our school and take on this crucial role in her replacement.

One of the first steps taken by the Committee was to conduct a thorough selection process for potential executive search companies with international expertise in the field of education. For this purpose, we have engaged the services of Search Associates. They conducted a series of remote meetings with various members of our community, including students, alumni, teachers, staff, parents, and guardians. This invaluable feedback has been incorporated into the professional profile that we have defined for this strategic position.

We are pleased to inform you that the process of searching for candidates has been activated through an announcement on the Search Associates platform. We are looking forward to receiving expressions of interest from highly qualified professionals from both Chile and different parts of the world who are willing to take on this exciting challenge.

We will continue to keep you informed about progress in the selection process and the next steps we will follow. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support during this important transition at our school.

As in any selection process and following a period of receiving and reviewing the credentials of potential candidates by Search Associates, we hope to proceed to the stage of interviews and reference checks, among other steps.

We will continue to keep the entire Santiago College community informed of the progress of this important process, which is overseen by the Search Committee composed of the undersigned, along with Virginia Cartes Garrido, Vice President of the Consejo; Georgeanne Barceló Vial, Consejo Superior’s Secretary; Sergio Urzúa Soza, Honorable Member of the Consejo Superior; and Javier Vera, representative of the Board of Trustees.
