As Santiago College we are deeply saddened by the death of Carolina Valdivia Torres, member of our community as parent and Alumni Class 1995.
We will always remember Carolina with her great smile, kindness, caring for her children, family and friends. Also in her role as the first woman to hold the position of Undersecretary and Minister (S) of Foreign Affairs of Chile (2018-2022), in addition to standing out in important responsibilities as Chile’s co-agent before the International Court of Justice in The Hague and her collaboration as a researcher at the Centro de Estudios Públicos (CEP) since 2022. Lawyer from Universidad Católica, Master in Law and Economics by the Ortega y Gasset Institute, Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, and a graduate of the Diplomatic Academy of Chile.
In recognition of her important contribution to the State of Chile, President Gabriel Boric decreed national mourning. Our condolences to her family and friends.
