At our school, creativity flourishes in every corner and students become great thinkers of their own ideas, always according with their individual talents. We have spaces specially designed for artistic expression, guiding our students through the exploration of unique and novel worlds.
Furthermore, educational technology is also the heart of a transformative learning experience, where our students go beyond the national curriculum by creating unique, amazing experiences in the classroom. We educate exceptional digital citizens, who are especially conscious and responsible in their use of social media.
Artistic Work
At Santiago College, we believe that artistic work promotes skills such as flexible thinking, creativity, and the strengthening of general human abilities, among many others. Our students develop their own talents, experiencing the arts as a form of human expression.
The visual arts curriculum includes diverse creative practices such as architecture, photography, graphic design, painting, sculpture, and more. These activities aim to expand students’ experiences beyond their initial work, including visits to museums, galleries, and encounters with artists.
We believe that music is a powerful catalyst that positively impacts students, enhancing memory and concentration by helping them retain information through different codes such as rhythm and melody. Its benefits are cognitive, emotional, social, and academic.
Among our facilities, we have rooms adapted to develop the study of the Suzuki Method for piano and violin. This educational program, also known as the Mother Tongue Method, is a philosophy and approach to music education developed by Shinichi Suzuki. His methodology focuses on teaching music to young children based on the idea that they can learn a musical instrument in the same way they learn their native language.
Exhibition
During the process of developing artistic skills, students are able to organize, manage, and design a real art gallery, the “IB Arts Exhibition,” which is an exposition developed after two years of work as part of the IB Diploma Programme. In this space, their paintings and sculptures of a very high artistic level are displayed, always guided by a highly qualified art teacher.
Our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme includes Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), which promotes creative thinking based on original creations with learning outcomes. Students must carry out experiences and projects that are both challenging and meaningful to themselves and their community.
Musicals
Our school takes pride in the high level of production of its musicals, both in English and Spanish, which reflect the talent, dedication, and passion of our students and teachers. Each play in our Theater is an impressive spectacle, where acting is combined with a beautiful choir that fills the stage with emotion and energy.
Live music, with violins and other instruments, accompanies each scene, creating a magical and immersive atmosphere that captivates the entire audience. The carefully designed and crafted costumes add authenticity and color to each character, transporting spectators to different eras and places.
The level of production not only enriches the artistic experience but also fosters values such as discipline, creativity, and teamwork in our students. The coordination between actors, musicians, and technicians demonstrates the commitment and passion we put into every production.
Each performance is a special moment that reflects collective effort and a love for the performing arts, making our English-language musicals truly memorable and magical.
At Santiago College, Drama is part of the curriculum from 5th grade, although extracurricular workshops begin as early as 3rd grade, always with the purpose of supporting cognitive, psychomotor, and emotional development.
Educational Technology
At Santiago College, educational technology is at the heart of a transformative learning experience, where our students go beyond the national curriculum by creating unique, impactful experiences in the classroom. We educate exceptional digital citizens, who are especially conscious and responsible in their use of social media.
We also research, test, and implement the latest methodologies and technological tools. This cutting-edge knowledge is shared with our teachers through active collaboration, dynamic training sessions, and joint planning. Among our students, we foster critical information search, creative problem-solving, effective communication, innovative expression, and safe, respectful participation in the digital world.
Personal reflection allows them to define a critical mindset that helps them throughout life.
At Santiago College, we believe that creativity and tech open the door to a future full of great possibilities. We foster an environment where students can explore their imagination through diverse artistic experiences. Additionally, we are committed to thoughtfully integrating digital technologies into the learning process.
