Our 11° grade students will work on a social project in different camps located in Lo Barnechea, La Pintana, Lampa and Talagante.
A service experience which contributes in a concrete way to the community and to form caring and solidary students, is the main goal of the field community work that is being organized together with Fundación Techo for our 11° grade students. Each class will work on a specific project, as different facilities repairs, preparation of “common pots” (ollas comunes) and soccer fields, among others.
These activities are part of the formative plan of our Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) program and will take place in different camps located in Lo Barnechea, La Pintana, Lampa y Talagante on May 31st and June 1st.
Along with participating with their work and effort, this initiative also seeks that students may reflect on the experience they will live and that it may contribute to develop a social conscience and commitment among them. Another goal of this activity is that students may practice and work on personal skills such as self-knowledge, leadership, teamwork and perseverance.
Homeroom teachers, an accompanying teacher, a room parent and a Techo volunteer, will be part of the group that will participate together with the students, for each class. They will leave SC at 8 am and will be back at School at 5 p.m. aprox.
Remember to wear comfortable clothes, appropriate for work (that can get dirty), a change of clothes, a bottle of water, alcohol gel and two masks. It is important to underline that both Santiago College and Techo will respect all the necessary sanitary protocols.
