Dear Parents and Guardians,
Along with cordially greeting you, we hope that you and your families are doing well at home, despite the critical pandemic situation that affects our country today. Without a doubt, the announcement of quarantine for 38 communes in the Metropolitan Region, which make up the City of Santiago, once again generates distress and a sensation that affects our physical, mental and emotional levels. In this sense, we adults are responsible for providing assurance for our children and students.
Given the contingency and the reduction in the number of school days, the school will continue in session during the week of May 18, 2020. Therefore, students will continue with their distance learning, except for Thursday 21st which is a holiday. Monday, May 18th and Tuesday May 19th will be normal school days, while on Wednesday, May 20th and Friday, May 22nd there will be some changes in the virtual learning Live Sessions, which will vary by level. The details of these adjustments will be provided in the weekly planning.
The purpose of these changes for Wednesday and Friday is to allow teachers to continue with their training and planning of distance learning. Also, we are getting ready to start with online assessments or evaluations, which bring on their own challenges and require time for preparation.
We hope that this new situation of confinement in Santiago becomes a space for good quality time with your families and for bonding with our children. From a distance we are striving to make continuous improvements in our distance learning efforts, so that your children feel our presence and permanent support as part of the Santiago College Community.
Best regards,
Principals
Santiago College.
