Alumni Supper: former SC students welcome the senior class as part of their community

The Alumni Supper is a very old Santiago College tradition where seniors are officially received as new members of the Alumni Association.

This ceremony is celebrated with a dinner party attended by former SC students where classes from different times of the school meet and become updated with friends and re-live the memories of the nostalgic school times.

We invite you to see the photographs of this celebration this 2017.

The Exhibition: Lower School children showed to the community what they have learnt during the First IB Phase

Interesting research works were shown at the exhibition by fifth graders. This took place last Tuesday at school. It is a very significant activity for students, as they have the chance to summarize the knowledge obtained during the Primary Years Program (PYP), and share it with the school community through different creations, from artistic to scientific, where they exercise abilities, knowledge and understanding of the subject that is being investigated. It is a long process led by the children themselves, who are empowered in their role and show what they have learnt during the first phase of the International Baccalaureate learning method that is imparted from first grade to fifth grade.

Thanks to everybody’s effort we surpassed the goal for Teletón

Dear members of the community, with much proud, we can inform you that this year we were able to amply surpass the goal to help Teletón in respect of the amount we collected the year before. Even though 2017 has been difficult, because the Teletón has taken place on a year of presidential elections, the work, effort and energy of those who took part in this campaign made it possible to reach a very high amount.  It is here when the SCHOOL SPIRIT of our school is clearly felt.

Thank you very much!!

The Last Chapel: Seniors’ last religious ceremony

Every story has an end, but in life each end announces a new beginning”, was the phrase that the Senior Presidents Antonia Mauriziano and Miled Gassibe used to start their farewell speech at the Last Chapel. This Ceremony is the last religious celebration where 12th-graders participate as regular students. It has a deep spiritual meaning, since the three religions instructed at school are present: Catholic, Jewish and Protestant.

Students of Class 1967 celebrated 50 years since their graduation

A pleasant activity took place today at school. The Class 1967 celebrated 50 years since their graduation from SC and used the opportunity to visit the new Los Trapenses campus that most of them didn’t know.

To commemorate the occasion, these alumni received a blessing in the school chapel and then enjoyed breakfast together, where they could chat and become updated about those classmates they hadn’t seen for a long time.

We invite you to see the photographs of this celebration.

Ring & Medal: Santiago College Symbols

With much nostalgia our seniors already began to say goodbye to their school phase and take different paths that will lead them to fulfill their dreams and reach their goals.

The Ring & Medal is one of the many farewells for 12th-graders, an old tradition where students receive rings and medals engraved with the school coat of arms to distinguish them forever as members of the SC Community. It is a very emotive ceremony where the Santiago College legacy is transferred through these symbols from generation to generation from parents, mothers, grandmothers and grandparents to seniors.
