Our recent graduate, Santiago Campos, was invited to a breakfast with the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, for his triple national score in the PAES 2024.
With his triple national score in the PAES 2024, our last year Senior, Santiago Campos Silva was invited to a breakfast in La Moneda with the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric; the Minister of Education, Nicolás Cataldo; and other 44 students of our country who received “Distinctions to the Educational Trajectories”.
Our Alumni achieved 1000 points in Mathematical Competence 1 (M1), Mathematical Competence 2 (M2) and Science, being selected by the Ministry of Education as one of the best students in the country in the Higher Education Access Test (PAES).
For Santiago it was very exciting to receive the call from La Moneda, although he recognizes that he went to take the PAES very calm and confident in his knowledge. “In Mathematics I had the experience of having participated in some national Olympics, and the full confidence that I was going to do well. In Science, as I chose Biology, I had to prepare more, reviewing content from previous years, but I still expected very good results,” he said.
He also indicated that “after taking the tests I was quite satisfied and confident, even hinting at the possibility of having obtained the national triple with my family and friends, since when I commented and reviewed the answers I did not find any mistakes”.
Regarding his experience in La Moneda, Santiago said it was tremendously positive and enriching. “When I was invited I was prepared to meet other students with national scores, but it was much more than that. I had the opportunity to listen to life stories of great effort and perseverance, and how young people of my own age came from different regions and contexts, being able to face and win over the adversities they faced,” he added.
Finally, he said that “this breakfast was held in an atmosphere of fellowship and mutual admiration that was very positive. I felt tremendously privileged because of the family I have, the school where I studied, the place where I live and I felt that the effort I made to obtain these results cannot be compared to that of many of these students”.
