Infant School goes from Pre-Kindergarten to 2nd<\/sup> grade. Its initial focus is creating a welcoming environment that is conducive to learning. This students are guided by two teachers per class and a balanced curriculum.<\/p>\n

Learning in the Infant School is guided by the Primary School Program (PYP), an International Baccalaureate program aimed at younger students, and is complemented by the academic curriculum requirements from the Chilean Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n

The PYP seeks to promote the integral development of the child through an emphasis on intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth. This program, taught in English and Spanish, nurtures and challenges students, preparing them to be active participants in their learning and capable of contributing to creating a better and more peaceful world, within the framework of mutual understanding and intercultural respect.<\/p>\n

Curriculum planning includes four disciplinary areas:<\/p>\n

  1. Inquiry Unit: Natural Science, Social Science and Technology<\/li>\n
  2. Mathematics<\/li>\n
  3. Spanish<\/li>\n
  4. Arts<\/li>\n
  5. PE & Sports<\/li>\n
  6. Personal and Social Development Program (DPS)<\/li>\n
  7. Religion (Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, or Crecer y Compartir)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Claudia Ribalta<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Claudia Ribalta Lambertini is the principal of the Infant School. She studied Differential Education at the University of Chile and did a Master’s in Special Education at the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica.<\/p>\n

    In 1987 she began to work at Santiago College –\u00a0 which is also the school were she studied. In SC she has developed her professional career, going through various positions, such as 1st grade teacher, learning specialist, Head of the Guidance Department, PYP Coordinator, Principal of Lower School and Principal of Infant School. In addition, she is a PYP Workshop Leader and Evaluator of schools for the International Baccalaureate Organization and has worked as a university professor.<\/p>\n

    The Infant School team is made up of teachers, psychologists, learning specialists, tutors, academic coordinators, and PYP delegates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
