The National 2018 InterCAS took place on October 24-27 led by the German School from Los Angeles (Chile). This instance seeks to have the students execute projects based on the lessons learned about service, where they apply the knowledge learned in the classroom in order to have a positive impact on the surroundings. It is also an opportunity to share with students from other schools andcontribute to the community in a real, practical and significant way.
Four students from 11th Grade took part this year: Matilde Valdés, Catalina Valenzuela, Natalie Hitchin and Elisa Mutizábal, who were accompanied by the CAS counsel of this level, Federico Márquez.
- Jardín del Encanto (Charming Garden): They were working for two days in improving the green areas of a school.
- Kamishibai: Kamishibai is an old Japanese theater presentation, where a story is told through hand-made illustrations. The group of students devoted the first day to draw and create the story and on the second day they showed their work in four different schools.
- Drama: The drama group spent the first day improvising and learning about actual acting techniques. On the second day they set up a play and showed it to the entire InterCAS group during the closing ceremony.
- Mapuche Cosmovision: First this group learned about the Pehuenche culture from an exhibitor member of this native people. Then they went to the Alto Bio-Bio area to know the Pehuenche culture and people more closely.
