Last Wednesday, 5th-grade students shared their Genius-Hour projects with their parents and teachers. This is an important activity in the level, as it implies one hour of research work per week –throughout the term- about a subject of their interest, where they must exercise their knowledge, abilities and attitudes in an authentic and innovating way.
During this time devoted to give birth to the students’ passions, the teacher assumes a guiding role in the creative process of his/her students and supports their collaborative work.
The outcome of this process could be seen in very interesting architecture, history, dance, art, sports, robotics, music, recycling, design, and other projects. All students showed their motivation when presenting their works to their parents.
