Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Santiago College’s unique community. This site is designed for parents and guardians who are searching for a school for their children as well as current members of our community and alumni.
There has been something extraordinary at the heart of Santiago College since its foundation. That something extraordinary explains our students’ happiness and achievements, our graduates’ success, and the deep bonds that our alumni maintain with Santiago College throughout their lives. We feel that this something extraordinary actually represents two vital forces: tradition and innovation. These two forces allow Santiago College to be a dynamic school that evolves over time even as it is sustained by an unwavering philosophy based on solid goals and values.
Few decisions in a child's life will have such far-reaching effects as the school he or she is to attend. What is at stake is nothing less than the development of the child's values and intellect, and even their career goals and active and positive participation in society. It is therefore of utmost importance that the school be compatible with the child's abilities and interests, as well as with the dreams and expectations of his/her parents or guardians. This compatibility is based on the school's philosophy of education, that is, the guiding principles and values that shape day-to-day activities.
Santiago College offers its students a solid moral and intellectual foundation upon which to build their future. For over 131 years, we have used a curriculum that is active, motivating, creative, nurturing and challenging.
Santiago College was one of the first schools in Chile to formally recognize that the education of women should be placed at the same level as that of men.
Santiago College was the first school in Chile to fully incorporate all three levels of the International Baccalaureate Curriculum.
Santiago College is one of the few educational institutions in Chile that has a true inter-faith curriculum, offering classes on Catholicism, Protestantism and Judaism.
