Middle Years Program (MYP)

Methodology

The Middle Years Program (MYP) provides a framework for the academic and personal development of students between the ages of 11 and 16. This five-year curriculum offers an educational approach that includes and goes beyond traditional school subjects.

The MIddle Years Program follows the Primary Years Program and Provides excellent preparation for the Diploma Program. Tenth graders are required to work with an advisor to develop a personal project that is to represent the culmination of the commitment that the student has made to the five program areas

Each school may choose the language of instruction and other languages studied in consultation with the IBO and in accordance with certain conditions. All IBO programs are based on the principle that academic and personal development will foster understanding among young people around the world and will make it possible for future generations to live more peacefully and productively. Intercultural awareness is one of the key elements of the program.
